Install the Import-Excel module.
On the Export-Excel cmdlet from that module there is a ChartType parameter.
That will create a graph from the data.
Let me know if you need an example
Hiya,
We have 2 data centres each which are going to have a version of vCenter 6.0 one being Essentials Plus and one being Enterprise Plus, due to business limitations.
I was thinking of setting up a single SSO domain for the 2, but the Essentials version doesn't support "Enhanced Linked Mode"
If I create a Local SSO instance at each site and then setup replication between the 2,
what difficulties will I have restoring the VM in a DR situation, what work will need to be done to get the VM up and running?
If we were to go ahead with Enhanced Linked Mode and get the appropriate vSphere licences Standard or better would they have to be the same version eg 6.0+6.0 or Enterprise+Enterprise etc?
cheers Mike
Afaik these are two different events, capture both.
Something like this.
You'll notice that a GuestOS shutdown generates both types of events.
So ultimately you should only look for the VmPoweredOffEvent
$vms=Get-VM|where{$_.PowerState -eq'PoweredOff'}
Get-VIEvent-Entity$vms-Start (Get-Date).AddDays(-1) -MaxSamples ([int]::MaxValue)|
where{$_-is[VMware.Vim.VmGuestShutdownEvent]-or$_-is[VMware.Vim.VmPoweredOffEvent]} |
Select @{N='Date';E={$_.CreatedTime}},
@{N='VM';E={$_.Vm.Name}},
@{N='User';E={$_.UserName}},
@{N='EventType';E={$_.GetType().Name}}
Hiya,
We are going to build our vCenter on a Windows server which will be one of the VMs in the Cluster.
We have isolated networks for management and VM traffic both being on different VLANs and Port Groups.
Do I configure the vCenter to have one NIC and attach it to the VM port group or do I attach it to the Port Group with the management VLAN, only it will have to communicate with DNS and AD etc.
or do I create 2 vNics on the VM and attach it to both Port Groups
Whats best practice.
A copy of our network is below:

I found a workaround that seems to work for me every time, in my limited amount of testing. If I drag an item onto a connecting line, the search box shows up who-knows-where. If I delete the connector and drag an item onto the previous item in the workflow, the search box shows up right there. then I just have to put another connector out. I have a case open, but this at least got me working again.
Hello Bados,
Have you been able to find a solution for your issue ?
I am using View 7.0.1 and Trend Micro Officescan 11.0.6285 Service Pack 1 and I am having the same persona issue.

vCenter Internal Hostname .local and External NAT DNS is .com not working
We are having the same issue described in the article above.
Does anyone know if it is possible, with a NAT configuration, where the internal FQDN suffix is .local, and the external FQDN suffix is .com, to have vCenter resolve externally to .com, and internally to .local?
Thanks!
Hi All,
I recently installed the NSX Plugin to vCO and I added my NSX manager. In the NSX workflows I can see the "Apply security tags on VM" but I cannot see a workflow that would let me remove a security tag from VM. Does anyone have any idea to do this?
Thanks,
Haluk
Hello,
We are using View 7.0.1 and the issue was with the PayPen II version. As mentioned, USB-redirection is not working but SCAN redirection is working . We tested this feature by installing the SCAN feature on the agent.
This SCAN redirection only works from a PC. SCAN redirection is not supported by zero clients like Wye P25 or P45.
With the old PayPen I , USB redirection works as expected and we had no issue with it. But I believe the device is no more manufactured.
We are planing to test with another device like PayPen. If you have any suggestions, please do not hesitate to give me a couple of them

Hello guys!
I have an environment that I gradually learned. I received a question asking if it is possible to make the part of registering a comment in the description field mandatory when a user requests a VM.
Attached is the picture with what I'm trying to say.
If someone already had to do this I would like help or if there was any official vMware document
Thank you!
Shouldn't registration of that dll be part of the installation process? Hopefully this is considered a bug.
It does work okay using the layout I described but I've dropped it down to a single NIC. My concern was that the documentation and templates keep harping on about single NICs being for PoCs which suggests that VMware won't support it in a production environment - If they do then that's fine.
Some members of the community are also arguing that using multiple NICs is less secure than using a Single NIC, I can see their point.
Hi,
I am using Horizon Client 4.2 and Horizon View 7.0.3 on ubuntu 16.04 64 bit desktop OS.
after login a desktop through BLAST protocol with H.264 enabled. At first, mouse would move well, but after 2 or 3 seconds, the mouse doesn't response well: it is very slow to move, and no response for mouse clicking.
the log shows many lines of:
"rmksContainer(24778): _xgeWireToEvent: Unknow extension 148, this should never happen."
After surfed the internet, I installed libxext 1.3.3.
after login the desktop, the mouse still doesn't response well.
the log shows:

Hi Kuanhung,
I was looking at the FileManager object in VMware vSphere 6.5 Documentation Library, and it seems to be that something like CopyDatastoreFile_Task should do the job here. I think that once you adjust the permission levels on the VM folder, you can use this to upload any certificate files you may need to the VM folder.

Have a secure environment with no internet and need to patch it. ESXi 5.5

when putting the protocol to pcoip it works fine
any requirements for blast extreme clients ??
please help
У меня тоже аналогичная ситуация после редактирования физ адаптеров
Hi Mike,
I assume your ESXi management vmkernel is on management VLAN, DNS & AD are also on Management VLAN.
In this case, you would only need the vCenter to be attached to the Management VLAN PortGroup.
In my opinion it is also not a good security practice to share Management VLAN with VM VLAN, vCenter should belong in the Management VLAN.
Do you have a requirement or reason why you would need to connect vCenter to the VM VLAN PortGroup
You can download offline patches here
https://www.vmware.com/patchmgr/findPatchByReleaseName.portal
Then use SSH to transfer them to your hosts and use "esxcli software vib install /path/to/patch/patchname.zip" to install them
If you have a vCenter with VUM you can import the patches to VUM and install them as any other patch
